Their three-stripe logo is perhaps one of the most recognisable in the world today and has become synonymous with sporting excellence. In 1947 Dassler Brothers Shoe Factory was jointly owned by Adolf (Adi) Dassler and his brother Horst but during that year the brothers fell out, causing them to dissolve the company and set up new ones on their own. Horst set about founding Puma whilst Adolf created adidas and a great rivalry between the pair began.
